At what age do women generally start losing hair?
Is it around the menopause age, ie 50+ ? |

| I think it's later than men, not many women in the forum yet to answer though... In women it seems to happen with big hormone changes, like pregnancy, menopause, etc. I dunno though, someone else probably has a better answer. |

I think my hair loss is due to hormonal changes. I am 58 years of age and all of my friends are about the same age. and most if not all of them are expeiencing some sort of hair loss. I am attempting to treat mine from the inside out. I think I should have an evaluation at kaiser first with a dermotologist and proceed from there. In the mean time, I've been taking Omega 3-6-9, " Nordic Naturals" and I have experienced re-growth of my eybrows, which had been stunted for years. I am also taking "menopause pak" from GNC. I was once told by a Dr. that anything that was going to work will do so in 30 days, and that is about the length of time it took for me to notice the difference. So I will see what it does for my thinning head hair. |

| Unfortunately there is no age range; more and more women are experiencing thinning hair easily in their 20's and certainly by their 40's. Addressing the issue early, and being consistant with your approach, can do much to save your hair or at least slow the progression of loss. Beyond that, it's in your genes. |
